emergn Streamlines Sourcing Practices through Launch of AgilePMO Offering

Striking Balance between Supply and Demand to Improve IT Project Return

NEW YORK, NY, July 30, 2009 /Telecommunications PR News/ -- Today, emergn, a sourcing strategy and Agile enablement consultancy, launched its AgilePMO service offering. This offering is designed to align an enterprise customer's IT project demand with delivery supply, both internally and across all outsourcing vendors working with the enterprise, to overcome the major industry issue of disconnected global delivery practices. Using Agile principles as a foundation for the PMO, emergn builds a sustainable model that cuts across any IT project, providing transparency, a common framework for planning focused on business value, budget management and forecasting, efficient risk mitigation, and issue escalation processes. It also establishes a balance between project needs and provider abilities.

emergn consultants work directly with all decision makers in an enterprise to define existing project value to the business and evaluate current internal delivery capability and outsourcing practices. Each provider will then be evaluated through a matrix consisting of contract type, team skill level, development methodology, and other key project fulfillment factors. From these assessments, emergn will identify shortcomings and correct them by embedding an Agile culture across the project, with a dedicated team to manage the day-to-day operation of the AgilePMO. emergn is already applying AgilePMO on several engagements with enterprise clients.

"Embedding an Agile culture into an enterprise's PMO organization significantly increases business value across the project environment and drives more accurate decisions at the PMO level. Enterprises often mistake this as a development methodology and are surprised at how efficient this discipline can make an entire organization's outsourcing process," Alex Adamopoulos, CEO, emergn. "The PMO exists to manage the supply and the demand for any IT project, and, when done effectively, it becomes a powerful driver that increases ROI for an enterprise."

The AgilePMO is part of emergn's unified sourcing model, which provides a framework to help plan, build, and run centralized or distributed models to achieve a better sourcing strategy that help companies address the continuous challenges of the industry. Unique to emergn, this model combines Agile enablement services, right-sourcing strategy, and project delivery through a best-choice provider network throughout China, India, Eastern Europe, and Russia. The unified sourcing model helps alleviate the misalignment between business, IT, and service providers.
