Michael Jerome Hall retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Information Specialist in 2007
SUFFOLK, VA, January 20, 2010 /Telecommunications PR News/ -- Michael Jerome Hall, Information Technology Specialist for The United States Air Force, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in Internetworking Technology and Telecommunications.
After retiring from the United States Coast Guard, Michael Jerome Hall transitioned to the role of Information Technology Specialist for the United States Air Force in 2009. Highlights of his work history as a Chief Information Specialist for the US Coast Guard include:
Supervisor Electronic Support Detachment, Portsmouth, VA:
• Providing operational support, hands-on implementation and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPS, desktop computers, and cabling in a large LAN/BAN/CAN/WAN environment.
• Utilizing Remedy ticketing software and network monitoring solutions for Tivoli Netview.
• Acting as Project Manager for all telecom and networking projects.
• Planning, installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining LAN/WAN network devices according to EIA/TIA standards (i.e. switches, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet, and servers).
Independent Telecom and LAN/WAN Technician at the Coast Guard Federal Building, Miami, Fl:
• Providing technical support.
• Planning, installing, and testing new SIPERNET LAN and network devices for the Coast Guard Federal Building.
• Providing the Coast Guard Federal Building with an upgraded and extremely flexible secure LAN, thus saving the Coast Guard in excess of $50,000.
Telecommunications Project Manager, Independent Telecom Technician USCGC SENECA, Boston, MA:
• Independent Regional System Manager.
• Responsible for ship's Telephone and Public Address System.
• Responsible for installation, maintenance and upgrade of 30 workstations, server, and 10 printers.
Mr. Hall presently works at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton as a Palace Acquire Intern. He participates in a leadership program in the Communications field and he was selected from hundreds of potential candidates to be a future civilian leader in the Air Force Civil Service work force. This is a rigorous three-year program which will benefit him and the Air Force in the future. Presently he works in the software development department. He is also a part of the configuration management team.
Mr. Hall received his Bachelor of Science degree in Internetworking Technology from Strayer University. He graduated magna cum laude in 2007. In 2002 he received an Associate of Arts in Electronic Technology from the University of Phoenix. He is a Certified Information Transport Systems Technician through BICSI; a
Certified Electronic Mechanic through USMAPS; a Certified Telephone Mechanic through USMAPS; an Associate Certified Electronics Technician; a Cisco Certified Network Associate; and a Cisco Certified Design Associate. He intends to pursue a master degree from Keller University in Information Systems Management.
He has been a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society since 2007 and a member of Building Industry Consulting Services International since 2002. He is a four-time recipient of the Good Conduct Award from the United States Coast Guard. The United States Coast Guard honored him with an Educational Achievement Award in 2002 and an Achievement Medal in 2000. He received a Commandant's Letter of Commendation from the United States Coast Guard in 1992. The White House Communications Agency presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation in 1993.
