2011 Slated To Be The Year For SIP Trunking

As the technology becomes more widely accepted and deployed in business and mobile communications, trends show that implementation will skyrocket this year

NAVARRE, FL, February 19, 2011 /Telecommunications PR News/ -- ECT Telecom, a leading communications provider, reports that 2011 is slated to be the year for SIP Trunking and integration of the technology into the vocabulary of the telecommunications industry and business customers worldwide. As the technology becomes more widely accepted and deployed in business and mobile communications, trends show that implementation will skyrocket this year. "The majority of calls we take from prospective clients, both domestic and international, relate to SIP Trunking" says Kenny Wilder, President and CEO of ECT Telecom.

SIP Trunking integrates both data and voice into a single line. It serves as a converter between a legacy phone system and a company's internet connection and allows the data network to carry voice traffic. SIP Trunking integrates local and long distance, E911, video conferencing, directory listing and caller-ID, all of which integrate seamlessly into the company's current system. Since calls are routed over an IP-based network for the majority of their route, the service provider charges a fraction of what the traditional call would cost over a standard network.

"Although SIP Trunking service providers offer many options at varying prices, it's common for businesses to see instant cost savings after a relatively modest investment in SIP based technology" says Wilder. "If deployed properly, SIP Trunking can generate a surprising return on investment in less than six months."
"If your company has multiple offices and a highly distributed network, you're probably going to have a lot of TDM trunking going into those locations," says Kenny Wilder. "With SIP trunking you can drastically lower your traditional amount of TDM connectivity by better utilizing connectivity across the board. It makes sense from both technological and business standpoints, and the industry indicates this technology will proliferate heavily this year."
