Margarete A. Ralston shines in the area of managed communications
PEARLAND, TX, August 15, 2011 /Telecommunications PR News/ -- Margarete A. Ralston, Principal Engineer, Integrated Solutions for Harris Caprock Communications, Inc., has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Managed Communications. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
For more than 30 years, Ms. Ralston has committed herself to learning and growing professionally, and to contributing to positive changes in the world. In her current role as Principal Engineer, Integrated Solutions with one of the world's leading communications services companies, she utilizes her leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, and radio frequency technologies expertise to support the goals of the mission critical, end-to-end managed communications services provider. She leads a team performing on a $5.8 M telecommunications integration project for a large platform that will drill for oil more than 1 mile deep in the Gulf of Mexico. Until mid-2011, she was part of a teleport integration team that created a profitable global communications company out of the assets from Schlumberger GCS and Caprock Communications, Inc.
Ms. Ralston has spent most of her professional life in radio frequency engineering and wireless communications. She started her career in broadcast antenna design and then performed TVRO antenna design for 4.5m and smaller antennas. She also designed C- and Ku-band payloads for commercial communications satellites. She also taught college for five years before working on cellular and PCS activities for US West, now Qwest. While there, she also worked on MMDS and LMDS. Her adventures in the latter brought her to a Canadian service provider, where she served as Vice President of Access and Applications, and to a manufacturer that was an early entrant into broadband wireless communications. When she ventured out of wireless, she became Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Newtone Communications, a Class-5 softswitch firm. Recently, she became a Certified Wireless Security Professional and now looks forward to demonstrating some viability in wireless information technology.
Attributing her success to sheer persistence, dedication, educational background and adherence to the philosophy, 'Before you speak, listen,' Ms. Ralston continues to strive for excellence in her every professional endeavor. She is proud to have entered into her field after having taken on oilfield communications. She feels that the highlight of her career was in 2001, when she raised $10.5 million in Series B venture capital for Newtone Communications. Ms. Ralston gained a wealth of experience and knowledge after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Denver. She received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Colorado at Denver. She earned an alumni scholarship from the University of Denver for her demonstration of academic excellence. She also earned a number of accreditations, including registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado. She holds an Amateur Radio Extra Class License, a Six Sigma Green Belt and an ITIL Foundation Certification V.3. She aspires to continue making significant contributions to corporate America while transitioning to become an independent consultant.
